OLIVIA BLAISDELL

Picture

Olivia
is a hot mess, but more famously known as a bad@ss Asian-American, queer, multidisciplinary artist. She specializes in photography, videography, dance and pole dance. Across all mediums, Olivia borrows aspects of her personal identity to highlight underrepresented voices in her communities. In her free time, Olivia doesn't have free time. One of her favorite mottos is, "Everyone's a little gay."

Olivia Blaisdell is a Boston-based, multidisciplinary artist specializing in photography, videography, dance, and pole dance. Across all mediums, she borrows aspects of her personal identity as a queer, female-identifying, Asian-American woman, to highlight underrepresented voices in her communities. Olivia was born in Connecticut, but raised in Los Angeles, where she grew up studying dance at The Vonder Haar Center for the Performing Arts; she returned to the East Coast to attend high school at Walnut Hill School for the Arts. Olivia has also trained with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, Joffrey Ballet School, and Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet. Upon graduating Boston University with a BS in Health Sciences, she started her own business: Olivia Moon Photography/halfasianlens. Olivia currently dances with KAIROS Dance Theater, VLA Dance, and in various independent projects. Learn more at www.halfasianlens.com.

The Click creates and performs primarily on land presently known as Wilmington, Sudbury, Somerville, Cambridge, and Boston, Massachusetts. We acknowledge that these lands are the original home of the Pawtucket, Massachusett, and Nipmuc tribal nations. This land acknowledgement is a formal statement to honor, respect, recognize, and pay homage to these original stewards of these lands and their enduring relationship with the territories on which we dance today. We acknowledge the painful history of genocide, violent removal, and forceful relocation as we honor and respect the many diverse Indiginous Peoples who remain connected to this and all land in our country. We urge our audiences to take the time to educate themselves on the communities that are indigenous to the land they live and work on. We encourage all our partners to continuously learn how they may contribute to protecting and supporting indigenous peoples and practices.
